Dr. Vigues is a senior consultant for Maidstone Consulting Group, LLC. Before becoming the Research Integrity Officer (RIO) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) in 2020, he was a researcher for 17 years in the Neuroscience field. He received his M.S. in Biochemistry and Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Montpellier, France. He has an extensive expertise in a large panel of Biochemistry techniques such as Immunoassays, Blots, Real-time PCR, Microscopy, Imaging or Crystallography.
In 2015 he decided to provide his expertise to Investigation Committees on difficult cases that requested both knowledge in techniques and expertise in forensic analysis. His understanding of what is needed during an investigation process allows him to provide the specific analysis required and save time to an investigating Committee.
He was trained by ORI (HHS) to use their forensic tools and since has developed his own set of tools to adapt his analysis to the diversity of the cases. He was also invited by ORI as a teaching RIO at the RIO bootcamp in 2019. Dr. Vigues brings also his expertise of sequestration and image analysis to the Forensic Special Interest Group (FSIG) for the Association of Research Integrity Officers.
